chandika

Chandika is a ferocious Hindu goddess, one who cannot tolerate evil acts, and who slays those who commit them, without mercy. Sometimes, we all need to bring a little Chandika into our hearts. There are times when it feels necessary, as a woman, to declare that there is a right, and a wrong. This hat is made in that spirit, with a light, feminine color pushing out from the dark, resolute.

maile sweater

Maile is a fragrant vine endemic to Hawaii, and it is traditionally used as a kind of very special lei; my husband and I wore maile leis on our wedding day. The lei is traditionally worn open, draped over the shoulders, and the leaf pattern in this sweater echoes that.

Sizes 6-15 months.

honeycomb

A blanket of concentric squishy squares, Like A Honeycomb is simple, homey, and versatile.

It has a comforting but surprisingly modern feel, and knits up very quickly. Worked in stockinette, garter stitch, and an hourglass-looking honeycomb stitch, it changes just often enough to keep things interesting.
